The wetlands are restrained by sturdy levies and relieved by a water control structure located along the eastern boundary. The area is bordered by a 50-foot-tall berm (raised bank with a road) in most places where you get a panoramic view of the bay and spot deer and cattle from elevated positions.
Rich soils allow for healthy grazing pastures, as well as tree cover for cattle and wildlife.
